I’m an award-winning designer with more than two decades of experience developing brands, websites, and visual communication systems for organizations of many sizes. Over the course of my career, I’ve worked across a wide range of environments—from signage and production shops to in-house marketing teams, a newsroom, and multi-brand business groups—gaining hands-on experience in everything from print production and installation to web design, HTML email, and creative direction.
As an independent designer, I’ve had the opportunity to collaborate with nationally recognized brands including Lund Boats, Brunswick, Mercedes-Benz USA, and Target, while also partnering with many local and regional organizations and start-ups such as ACCS, The Unity Foundation, WalkWise, Genesis Feed Technologies, and Cady Acres. I enjoy working at both ends of that spectrum: helping established brands evolve while also supporting emerging organizations as they define their identity.
Since 2016, I’ve served as a faculty member in the Communication Design program at Alexandria Technical & Community College, where I teach courses spanning packaging design, web design, branding, design foundations, and professional practice. I also developed a studio-based agency course in which students collaborate on real-world client projects through Studio300, gaining hands-on experience in a professional design environment.
My work in education and research explores how design methods support learning and creative problem solving. I’ve presented on my Phased Module Framework at the AIGA Design Educators Community conference and am contributing a chapter to an upcoming publication on the role of AI in contemporary design classrooms.
